I made some hardware changes which resulted in an extended outage. I finally broke down and bought a new quadcore processor to build a dedicated ESX 3i machine. UltimateWhitebox.com was helpful. It is a list of consumer hardware that is compatible with ESX 3i. The list of motherboards is a little dated, but still helpful.
